An overnight stay before flying home from SFO so can only really review check-in and room as I didn't use anything else. I paid about $136 I think and for the price really good value for San Francisco. Location was great - have stayed nearby previously and as long as you stick to Mason/Market St side of town it's pretty good. Walk too far in the wrong direction you can end up in the 'less safe for tourists' part of town so check before wandering. Hotel is indeed Bijou - small and cute. Few details reflective of price, eg chipped or broken lighting, no views, small room. But lots of good towels (ladies or people with long hair will understand this is often an issue!), comfy bed, clean, decent shower pressure. Staff were great. I would definitely return for a couple of nights.

Great location for us - close to bus, tram, metro, train station. Some good cafe/restaurants within easy walking distance - Cafe Mason for a great breakfast - Cafe Central for lunch sandwiches or salads. Subway/ burger king also close by and Panda express in Westfield food mall. Hotel staff exceptional, could not do enough for us - helped with travel plans around the city, booked us taxies and printed our boarding passeses. Held bags when arrived far too early for check-in and we left a bag securely whilst we went on cruise, returning 10 days later, which really helped us. Good shower, comfortable bed/room. . Would certainly return for another trip.

In the week we stayed here the hotel has grown on me. The staff were excellent and inspiring people and I enjoyed talking to them. Jimmy and Chris are even about to publish a book! I also enjoyed the complimentary coffee available at all times. Hotel Bijou has a flair, it has a character. The design is following a single style, and is well done. There are homeless in the neighborhood and although they are loud sometimes, I kept the windows open at night to better connect with the city. It’s all about the attitude. Hotel automatically provided ear plugs in the rooms should the noise be a problem. Very thoughtful.

The staff was very accommodating. We wanted to check out later than 11am and they didn't hesitate to let me and my Fiancé check out an hour after our intended check out. Kunal, I assume the manager of the hotel, even let us stay in the lobby as our bus only leaves at 10.40pm. He allowed us to use the hotel locker even after we checked out so that we can still go around San Francisco without the hassle of bringing along our luggage. An unexpected great experience with this hotel. The most accommodating hotel I've been to so far. Excellent service!

The location was great for Union Square, right by Powell Street Station and very close to cable cars, and trams stops. The room had 2 x large beds and they were the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. There was coffee making facilities in the bedroom which was great. And a constant supply of coffee in the bar / reception area foc..
